There are at least four possible reasons for failure to implement an organisational strategy: ignorance, apathy, carelessness or opposition.
In the first instance, the problem might simply be that people are not aware what the vision is or how they can put it into practice. They might prefer a template that they can follow. This book should prove useful for readers in this group as it provides suggestions as well as pointing to some useful resources that the author has come across.
For those who are apathetic, the leadership of the pastor, elders and other leaders, combined with prayer and fasting, under the influence of the Holy Spirit, are indispensable. The message of the Lord to the church in Laodicea, as detailed in Revelation 3, has much to say to us about this. The prayer of the author is that this book also proves of value to those in this group once they see how the vision can be put into practice.
For those that have not exercised enough care in the oversight and execution of the work of the Lord, prayerful reflection and implementing some of the principles here outlined should prove valuable.
The author would hope that there are not any members that have set themselves in opposition to the vision. For those that find themselves doing so without any malice, the book attempts to show the biblical basis for the strategy and to show how it fits harmoniously with the work of the church worldwide.
